- Three separate 1.5km diversions of the Elan Valley Aqueduct a three metre diameter pipeline from Wales to the West Midlands.
Solution
- Given the scale and nature of the proposed development and associated shaft sites and working areas, EIA screening was required. Comprehensive screening applications were submitted to the Local Planning Authority for each diversion.
Benefits
- The Local Planning Authority confirmed that the proposed development did not constitute EIA development and this ensured that permitted development rights could be utilised for the main works.
