Associate Partner - Compulsory Purchase & Compensation Lead 01530 410871

Background and industry experience

James leads the Compulsory Purchase & Compensation service line; a national team of experts negotiating or advising on the acquisition of land or rights for infrastructure projects on behalf of landowners, acquirers and others with affected interests. This includes land assembly, compensation and valuation advice across various sectors.

Having joined Fisher German as a graduate, James spent his early career working in rural general practice before specialising in compulsory purchase. His role supports colleagues operationally to ensure that our expert team consistently provide the highest quality advice to clients, from across our office network.

In professional work, James specialises in compulsory purchase order matters, most notably representing North Somerset Council on their Banwell Bypass scheme as well as representing claimants on complex schemes such as HS2.

Outside of work, James enjoys a range of country pursuits, long walks in the countryside and the challenges of training working spaniels.
