On 20 January, we released the final episode of our podcast series ‘Fisher German Talks’. The second series followed the success of the first in 2022 and so far, has had more than 34,600 listens, helping both internal colleagues and our diverse range of clients understand more about current issues being faced by the property industry.

In this episode Partner, David Laws is joined by Atul Bansal, founder of The Sheila Bird Studio, which aims to help businesses relocate and rebrand their image. The pair discuss how the Covid-19 pandemic fundamentally transformed the landscape of the modern workplace, with offices being forced to close and many businesses having to act quickly and with great agility to remain productive and thrive in a new and rapidly changing working world.

The conversation examines how, for employees, many of whom were trapped at home, at the kitchen table, on the sofa, or in a makeshift home office, the importance of a well-appointed and efficient workspace was thrown into sharp relief. In contrast, this period also highlighted the many shortcomings and outdated attitudes around the traditional way of working. David and Atul discuss how, after the pandemic, there is a greater focus on work-life balance and flexibility and examine the impact this demand is having on the modern workplace. They also look at how hybrid working is becoming the new expected norm and what it is doing to shape offices of the future.

In other episodes in this series, listeners will also learn about the latest planning legislations and updates, hear top tips for graduates looking at a career in surveying as well as finding out more about rural diversification; where to start, how to fund a project and looking at different ways to diversify.
