We are thrilled that one of our associates, Ginny Banham, who works in our rural team, has been awarded the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors (RICS) Land (Rural and Urban) Surveyor of the Year Award 2023.

The RICS Matrics Surveyor Awards ceremony, which was held at the Londoner Hotel in Leicester Square on Friday 20 October, showcased inspiring individuals who have had a positive impact on the environment, planning or any aspect of the management of land.

One of our partners, Struan McDougall, who works with Ginny at our Doncaster office said: “It is wonderful to see The RICS awards celebrate young surveyors and their contribution to the industry. We are thrilled that Ginny has been recognised for her hard work and commitment to the rural team. At Fisher German, we all work hard to have a positive impact on the community and the environment, so it is great to have our work recognised and rewarded.”

Another partner, Carl Pearson, who attended the award ceremony in London added: “Ginny is a rarity in the industry and has retained a generalist approach to match the client base that she has established. She has experience in property management, utilities, valuations, and machinery auctions, she is the mortar in the wall, holding all the different parts of the structure together. Ginny is a problem solver, a team player, and an asset to the profession. As well as delivering a high level of service to her clients by coming up with innovative solutions, she also supports people in the profession, particularly those early in their careers.”

In the words of her nominator: “She is exceptional; professionally and personally and she deserves the recognition of her peers through this award. She should be proud of herself, for who she is, what she has done and what she is capable of.”

The judge at the event said: “Very competent at what they do on a day-to-day basis and is highly regarded within their company. This candidate also gives back to the profession by way of involvement with their team, developing others and the Central Association for Agricultural Valuers (CAAV).”

On winning the award Ginny said: “I am delighted and honoured to have been selected as a winner. It would not have been possible without the continued support and trust from the organisation.”

Congratulations also go to one of our associates, Stephanie Christensen, who was shortlisted for the Valuation Surveyor of the Year. This award seeks to find an individual who shows excellent skills, knowledge, and customer service in their chosen field of valuation.
