In a move to champion the future of the UK, our Managing Partner, Andrew Bridge, joined Anthropy, a cross-sector organisation dedicated to enhancing the nation's quality of life through long-term, collaborative efforts among business leaders. This partnership marks a significant step in our journey towards creating a more sustainable and equitable society.
Following Anthropy25, a three-day national gathering held at the Eden Project, Andrew shared his reflections on the event and its implications for the future of the business.
The Eden Project's remote location served as a fitting backdrop, encouraging attendees to remain present and engaged. The gathering brought together 2,000 delegates, including a vibrant mix of businesses, NGOs, public sector leaders, entrepreneurs, and political voices. Among them were over 200 emerging leaders, whose energy and dynamism provided a reassuring glimpse into the future.
Anthropy25 was not just an event; it was a call to action, urging every delegate, from seasoned CEOs to emerging leaders, to contemplate their role in building a stronger, fairer, and more sustainable Britain. It demonstrated that when you gather diverse, passionate individuals in one place with a shared purpose, it is incredibly powerful. As with most things, you can either be the bystander and watch the world, or as Gandhi famously once said: ‘be the change you want to see in the world’.
As a session conveyor and speaker, I anticipated that the main value would come from the stage. However, I found that some of the most thought-provoking moments emerged from impromptu conversations with strangers. These discussions ranged from regenerative farming and investment banking to education and volunteering, highlighting the power of diverse, passionate individuals united by a shared purpose.
For me, the event was a timely reminder of the importance of looking at the bigger picture, not dwelling on the past or the present but focusing on the future to create the change we want to see. Fisher German's trajectory and growth are crucial, but the firm must also be bold and ambitious in driving the business forward while considering the communities and environment around them. Supporting clients to focus on what is within their reach and collaborating to provide the best possible advice is essential.
In a world where many factors are beyond control, particularly current geopolitical issues, leaders must focus on what they can control. As leaders, we must be adaptable and innovative to build a resilient, forward-thinking organisation. We are committed to supporting everyone to bring their whole selves to work, unlocking the power of authenticity, inclusivity, and shared success.
Achieving work-life harmony is not just a goal; it's the key to thriving and at Fisher German is dedicated to moving the business forward with integrity, vision, and societal value. By embracing change, fostering collaboration, and focusing on sustainable growth, we are poised to lead the charge in building a better future for all.
The Anthropy movement is powerful, inspiring and it aligns perfectly with Fisher German's legacy and commitment to growth. By looking to the future of our clients' businesses and the impact we can have, we can drive meaningful change ourselves.
