A team of 12 from our Ashby offices are taking on the national Three Peaks Challenge tackling the tallest mountains in Scotland, England and Wales in just 24 hours in May to raise money for the Henry Sale Foundation.

The team is made up of our Marketing Manager Laura Jane Taylor, Head of Bids Debbie Smith, Internal Communications Specialist, Harry Marshall and Developer, Lewis Blackburn from Shared Services, These are joined by Graduate Planner. Jabu Phiri, Graduate Planner, Assistant Planner Maxwell Griffin and Planner Vicky Heath from our planning team. Associate Partner, Laura Knight and Surveyor, Sophie Ward from our infrastructure team join Head of Infrastructure Management & Maintenance Richard Broome and  Surveyor Georgia Carr and  Harriet Cooper, a Graduate Surveyor, both from our rural property management team.

The Three Peaks challenge, well known as a test of both physical and psychological stamina, will see the team tackle some of the most challenging terrain in darkness as they race against the clock.

The Henry Sale Foundation is a charity established in memory of former Joint Managing Partner, Henry Sale, supporting charitable causes that enable education and social inclusion through sport and the countryside. During the year we host other events in support of the Henry Sale Foundation including our popular summer Henry Sale Memorial Cricket Match.

The Foundation has recently supported projects including an apprenticeship bursary with Northampton Saints Foundation, Chance to Shine, which offers free cricket sessions to children across Leicestershire, and BIGKID Foundation, a group which aims to end youth violence and social exclusion in London.

The Three Peaks Challenge will take place over 24 hours on Friday 17 May and into the early hours of Saturday 18 May. It involves climbing three mountains within 24 hours. They are Ben Nevis in Scotland (1,345 m), Scafell Pike in England (978 m) and Snowdon in Wales 1,085m).

Completing the Three Peaks is a physically demanding feat, each peak presents its own challenge, with an array of steep ascents, rocky paths, and varied terrains with constant uphill climbs followed by steep descents and some of those will be completed in the dark!

The team will start at Ben Nevis at 7am on Friday, summiting it as quickly as possible and then travelling 5-6 hours down to Scafell Pike in the Lake District by minibus. After finishing Scafell Pike in the dark, the team will head down to Snowdon for the last leg.

Marketing Manager, Laura Jane Taylor, who has organised the event, said: “It will be a gruelling 24 hours, with the team having to recover quickly in between the hikes to ensure they can complete the challenge. The team have been doing some training walks to prepare ourselves for the challenge."
