Rps 2022 shortlisted fisher german banner

Fisher German have been shortlisted as a finalist in the Insider’s Midlands Residential Property Awards 2022 for a £240 million deal in Lichfield

The finalists for the awards have been revealed this week after a record number of entries were received for the event with 74 making it through to the finals across 15 categories.

In the ‘Deal of The Year’ category, we have been shortlisted for the sale of a 100-acre site off Watery Lane in Curborough, Lichfield to Redrow Homes. The site has planning permission for up to 750 homes and a gross development value in excess of £240 million.

The sale of the site was agreed on behalf of the two landowners, who are our longstanding clients, working in conjunction with promoters IM Land who achieved planning permission. We marketed the site in 2021 with Highgate Land & Development, receiving a strong level of interest from a range of volume housebuilders.

The scheme will feature a mix of two- to five-bedroom homes, including more than 30 per cent affordable housing, as well as a new primary school and community centre and Air Training Corps building. Curborough Hall Farm Countryside Centre, featuring independent cafes and shops, which is located on the site will also be retained and enhanced as part of the plans.

Ben Marshalsay, Head of Development based at Fisher German’s Ashby office, said: “We are thrilled to be through to the finals of the Midlands Property Awards. This deal was the largest transaction that we have acted on to date and it is one of the largest deals of this kind completed in the Midlands during the 2021/22 financial year. It has been a truly collaborative effort between all consultants our joint agents Highgate Land & Development and the landowners, and IM Land to both ensure the site was allocated for housing in the local plan and overcome planning and technical issues.

“The development will be an extremely positive addition to Lichfield, as it will bring hundreds of new homes to the area and form the first phase of a large-scale urban extension.”

The overall winners will be announced at ceremony on 23 June at Eastside Rooms in Birmingham.
