• Severn Trent require additional water storage capacity in the Malvern Hills

Solution

• It was determined that a new reservoir was required in the Malvern Hills Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty. The new development is restricted in such locations. The Utilities Planning Team prepared and submitted a comprehensive planning application following pre-application consultation with the Local Planning Authority.
• Planning permission was subsequently secured to provide two new reservoir cells and associated works, including a pumping station kiosk, hardstanding and landscaping. The reservoir is currently in construction.
