More than 30 affordable homes, a new car park and improved leisure facilities have been secured in a Leicestershire village in a deal completed by Fisher German’s Ashby office.The properties form part of an 88-home scheme in Bottesford that has been brought to the market by land promoter Richborough Estates and will be delivered by Miller Homes.
Fisher German’s planning team worked closely with Richborough Estates to obtain planning permission for the site off Normanton Lane, which was recently awarded by Melton Borough Council.The landowner and Richborough Estates also committed improvements to leisure and recreational facilities in the village, along with a new car park and upgrade of the existing car park to serve the nearby railway station.
Luke Brafield, associate director at Fisher German’s Ashby office, said: “Not only will this site deliver much needed new homes for this area – including a number of affordable units – thanks to the generosity of the landowners and Richborough Estates there will also be a significant improvement to local facilities over and above what is required within the planning permission. We were delighted to work with the landowners throughout the development cycle, advising on planning potential and negotiating a promotion agreement with Richborough Estates before obtaining planning permission and ultimately achieving a sale to Miller Homes.”
Miller Homes has started work on the development which will comprise a mixture of two, three, four and five-bedroom properties, including a number of two and three-bed bungalows. The homes are expected to be released for sale in the autumn. Steve Louth from Richborough Estates said: “We are delighted with the outcome of this project. By proactively working with the Council, the local community, Network Rail and Miller Homes we have unlocked a technically complex site. We are grateful to Fisher German and the landowner for their support and for putting their trust in Richborough Estates, and we are excited to see construction start on site.”
