We are thrilled that one of our partners, Ruth Ofield, who leads our graduate team and is responsible for graduate recruitment has been awarded the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors (RICS) Mentor of The Year award.

The Young Surveyor of The Year Awards ceremony, held at the Royal Lancaster Hotel on Friday 4 November, showcased exceptional talent within the surveying profession and was an opportunity for individuals and employers to celebrate the highest standards of professionalism and innovation within the built environment.

For the Mentor of The Year award, RICS apprentices, trainees and newly qualified professionals aged under 35 years of age are invited to nominate those who have supported and inspired them to progress in their careers.

Maria Hawley, HR Director said: “The key to my heart is watching people grow into being the best version of themselves. I am so incredibly proud of Ruth for winning this award as she is an absolute shining light in developing both qualified and non-qualified individuals.

“Ruth started as a graduate and in the space of 10 years is now a Partner and Head of Graduate Recruitment. It is due to her drive, commitment, and leadership that we have such a fantastic early year’s programme.”

Associate, Olivia Yates, who assists with graduate and placement recruitment and works closely with the Assessment of Professional Competence (APC) team said: “Ruth works harder than anyone I know, cares more than anyone I know and puts in 150% every day not just for her success, but to support so many others too. She is a true role model and an inspiration to so many young surveyors.”

Partner, Matthew Trewartha said: “Ruth’s endless efforts in supporting our young colleagues is the reason that we have again enjoyed a 100% APC pass rate. This award reflects the selfless approach Ruth has to mentor so many people, she truly deserves this honoured recognition.”

Amy Bowden, a Senior Associate, in our development agency team was also shortlisted as a finalist in the Land (Rural and Urban) Category. This award seeks to showcase an inspiring individual who has had a positive impact on the environment, planning or any aspect of the management of land.
