We’re strengthening our early careers offering to help attract, develop and retain the next generation of talented surveyors and planners. As a partner-owned business, investing in people has always been central to how we grow, and the new structure reflects our long-term commitment to creating clear, rewarding career pathways across the business.
As part of this, we’ve introduced a new centralised early careers team, working in close partnership with colleagues across the wider business to deliver a more joined-up and effective approach.
For many years, our early careers programme has been hugely successful whilst playing an important role in supporting graduates, placement students and apprentices as they begin their careers in surveying and planning. From recruitment through to professional training and qualification, it has helped shape the next generation of Chartered Surveyors and planners across the business.
As the business continues to grow, so too does the scale and requirements of that support with over 140 colleagues expected to be part of the early careers cohort by the early autumn.
To support this growth, we’ve expanded our central early careers resource to help us deliver a more consistent experience, create greater capacity for the future, and ensure the programme continues to evolve in line with our wider business strategy.
The early careers landscape is constantly changing, from graduate expectations to recruitment opportunities and professional requirements. A dedicated team gives us the focus needed to respond to those changes, strengthen our offer and continue attracting high-calibre talent.
This approach has also been shaped by ideas from our recent Pathway to Ownership cohort, including a more structured focus on identifying talented people from a broader range of backgrounds and career routes.
The team brings together our new Early Careers Manager, Adella Brown, Talent Ambassador, Kelly Edwards, who will play a key role in this work, helping us build relationships with new talent pipelines and bring in people with valuable transferable skills and new Early Careers Coordinator, Gurpreet Kooner.
We’re delighted to welcome Adella and Gurpreet to the business, and to see Kelly step into her new role after previously working in our Infrastructure Services division. Together, they bring fresh perspective, valuable experience and a shared passion for developing future talent.
Adella said: “I am delighted to be joining Fisher German and working alongside Gurpreet and Kelly as we continue to develop the early careers offering. As I step into the role of managing the team, I’m looking forward to shaping the strategic direction of early careers, ensuring it both supports the growth ambitions of the business and development of future talent across the organisation.”
Kelly added: “In this new role, I’ll focus on building relationships with external partners, including universities and colleges, to support the growth of our early careers recruitment and reach new areas of higher education.”
Gurpreet said: “I am really excited to be part of the new team. My role will be organising and coordinating all logistics and admin around the Early Careers programme. The job role is quite broad, ranging from working with Kelly on university engagement and careers fairs to organising all aspects of the recruitment process right through to liaison with existing graduates and organising university and RICS enrolments and everything else in between!”
Alongside the new central team, colleagues from across the business will continue to play an important role in delivering our Early Careers programme, with some responsibilities evolving as the function becomes more centralised.
They will remain closely involved in shaping technical content and supporting delivery, while the new team leads on programme coordination, logistics and talent attraction.
