On 25 June the Blaston Show will open for the 64th time in Slawston, Market Harborough with one of our associates, Matthew Trembath, as the Show Director. His predecessor William Young stood down at last year’s show after 12 years in this role.

The Blaston Show is a local rural show, which is attended by many in the agricultural business as well as the local community and is a key event in Market Harborough. The show supports local charities for which this year are the East Midlands Immediate Care Scheme (EMICS) and the Market Harborough branch of the Macmillan Cancer Support. The show hosts many attractions including a livestock area, a display of vintage tractors, a dog show and the annual classic car run and parade.

Originally from Essex, Matthew joined us in September 2016 after graduating from the University of Reading with a degree in Rural Land Management. He did a summer placement at our Thame office before moving into our rural property management team in Market Harborough. In 2018, Matthew became a fellow of the Central Association of Agricultural Valuers (CAAV) and subsequently qualified as a Chartered Surveyor in 2019.

Matthew said: “I am thrilled to be given the opportunity to be the Show Director for such a popular and prestigious show. It will be wonderful to be able to meet some of our clients and landowners in the area and update them on the work we are doing at Fisher German.

“I am heavily involved in the local community, and at a well-attended agricultural event, it will be great to have a joint stand with the team at NFU to promote our broad range of expertise across many sectors in the industry which will hopefully bring some new opportunities in the future.”

Partner, Louise Duffin said: “Fisher German has been in Market Harborough for more than 200 years and following our move from the town centre to our new business park location it is important we continue to have a presence at the Blaston Show. Having Matthew as the Show Director is a huge compliment to him and a recognition of the work he has done in this area. We are looking forward to seeing some familiar faces at the show and sharing the news of our growth with our clients and those visiting our stand.”
