- Supporting SpaMedica’s ambitious expansion programme as their trusted planning advisor since 2020
- SpaMedica are an NHS partner where they deliver ophthalmology services free at the point of treatment for NHS patients. They are one of the largest providers of cataract surgery in the UK of which 99% are for the NHS with dedicated modern eye facilities, operating with efficiency at a very high success rate
- Carrying out due diligence reviews for new sites and confirm requirements for occupation, and securing planning permission as required for Spamedica eye clinics as part of their acquisitions programme within tight timescales
Solution
- Addressing planning issues overcoming Council’s concerns in relation to a perceived loss of employment uses and justifying parking requirements
- Ensuring technical elements of proposals are justified and acceptable, for example noise associated with new plant
- Working with the Council to ensure that they fully understand the full public benefit associated with the proposed use which supports the NHS
