Project summary
- Fisher German (FG) were instructed to work with one of their clients to replace some timber fencing that was surrounding one of their above ground valves, which included liaison with the landowners to agree access to complete the works.
Solution
- FG’s surveyors and line maintenance technicians (LMTs) worked together to take access to an above ground valve compound to replace some old timber fencing with new palisade fencing.
- This was done to ensure the valve was kept secure from 3rd party interference. FG’s surveyors initially liaised with the local planning authority to see if planning permission was required to replace the old timber fencing with new palisade fencing.
- It was, however, deemed not to be required. They then liaised with the landowners to present the proposals and agree access to complete the works.
Benefits
- Once this was agreed, the LMTs took access and completed the work on-time and within budget.
