We recently launched the fourth series of ‘Fisher German Talks’. Following the success of the first three series, this series will consist of seven episodes. They will cover an array of topics, including insights from our National Country Agency Team (NCAT) and an episode showcasing the recruitment market for surveyors with Trish from our Talent Acquisition Team and Arthur from our Development Agency team. With more than 65,000 listens across the first three series, we hope this series will be just as popular.

As with the other series, expert colleagues from across the business will be invited to discuss some of the most prominent topics within the property sector. They provide a great insight into their area of expertise, with the help of guests from within the industry.

The first episode of the new series is hosted by Matthew Allen, Partner, and Head of our National Country Agency Team (NCAT) and Richard Gadd, Partner, and Head of our Farms Agency who are joined by Adam Saunby, Senior Associate at Forsters LLP solicitors. They discuss the current property market, identifying some of the key challenges and opportunities with Adam helping them to analyse the rural property market in more detail.

Matthew said: “Our podcast in Series Two looked at the post-COVID property market, at that time, there was a significant increase in agricultural land from private organisations and charities. In 2024, economic uncertainties and inflationary pressures are easing but we have seen a slow start to the year. Interest rates, higher input costs and a general election looming are leading to buyers taking a more cautious approach.”

Together, Matthew, Richard and Adam analyse the market and explore some of the processes of rural property sales. Adam highlights the importance of thorough preparation before properties are marketed to achieve maximum value and an efficient sale and provide an expert’s voice on conveyancing, practical tips on legal preparations for sales, and strategic decision-making and looks at ways to address common challenges.

In the second episode, launching on Friday 24 May, one of our senior associates, Ellie Savage explores the importance of rural diversification and how it can help to broaden the economic activity of rural areas by providing opportunities and creating a more balanced and stable income for the future. She is joined by sisters Emily & Sophy who launched open-water swimming at Watersedge in the summer of 2022. Together they explore the advantages and disadvantages of rural diversification looking at how expanding into other markets, rural businesses can tap into different customer segments and generate additional revenue streams.

Further episodes will also explore the future of electricity, the importance of strategic estate asset reviews, and insight with our Managing Partner, Andrew Bridge, into how we sustain a legacy partnership to prepare for the next generation for our succession and how the successful mergers and acquisitions have contributed to the growth of the business.
