Fisher German was presented with a trio of awards at the National Grid LLRF Supplier Awards 2025 ceremony held at the Thinktank in Birmingham.

Charlotte Brooke, a graduate surveyor in our Knutsford office, was presented with the Rising Star Award for demonstrating exceptional leadership, initiative and professionalism.

She has been repeatedly recognised by National Grid Electricity Transmission for navigating last-minute survey requests, absentee landowners and challenging agents to avoid delays to the survey programme, while also providing proactive support to assist with short-notice requests across the North.

Health and Safey Co-ordinator Carolann Hardy secured the Best Safety Initiative Award for launching a comprehensive safety initiative to better protect Fisher German’s staff and partners.

This has involved Fisher German upgrading its emergency procedures and introducing a Critical Event Response Team escalation protocol to ensure swift, structured responses to serious incidents.

Finally, Partner Angela Brooks, who heads up our strategic planning team, accepted the Innovation Award for development plan monitoring on behalf of its GIS and planning teams.

A groundbreaking collaboration between us and National Grid has led to the development of a cutting-edge Development Plan Monitoring Service, which has revolutionised how planning consultations and applications are tracked and managed across the UK.

The SharePoint-based platform marks a significant shift from traditional spreadsheet-based tracking and in its first eight months, the system reviewed 329 consultation documents, resulting in 135 formal representations submitted on behalf of National Grid. It has also mapped over 2,700 planning applications, enabling proactive engagement and safeguarding of critical infrastructure.

Head of Infrastructure Consultancy, Matthew Hodgetts, said the National Grid LLRF Supplier Awards was a fantastic showcase of how collaboration across supply chains drives success and innovation. “At Fisher German, we are committed to building partnerships and constantly going the extra mile which is demonstrated by our success in these awards.

“Charlotte’s rapid growth, dedication and ability to lead by example make her a standout emerging talent and a true rising star within our team.

“Carolann deserves huge credit for turning a challenging incident into a catalyst for meaningful change by demonstrating leadership, accountability and innovation in safety.

“And the Development Plan Monitoring Service is an intuitive system which spatially presents National Grid assets alongside Local Planning Authority boundaries and live development plan consultations and has reinvigorated National Grid’s outreach efforts.

“It was a day to remember at the awards in Birmingham and emphasises the value we place on providing innovative work for our clients.”
