Fisher german manchester big 25 team

A team from our Manchester office, based in Deansgate, was passed the relay baton by colleagues from Newcastle last week before they set off on Friday 4 July to complete their 92-mile leg of our ‘Big 25’ charity challenge to our Stafford office.

This leg will see colleagues walking, cycling and paddleboarding over five days to provide day visits to children living challenging lives in Manchester and Greater Manchester as they have chosen the Children's Adventure Farm Trust as their beneficiary.

CAFT is a Cheshire-based charity which provides residential and day visits to its 10-acre site for children from the North West whose lives are impacted by illness, disability or social disadvantage. Children visit with either other charities, schools, community groups or with their family, and all visits are free.

Future Big 25 legs will see colleagues travel by tandem bikes, unicycles, open water swimming, and even conga line as part of the mammoth 2,400-mile journey between the offices.

Partner, Richard Elton, who works in our valuations team, said the challenge was going extremely well with the fundraising target having already reached 81% of the original target. He said: “We’ve supported The Children's Adventure Farm Trust in the past and we’re delighted to continue our backing of this fantastic charity that provides memories for children long after they have visited.

“The whole team in Manchester has united to take part in our leg which will involve cycling on Bee Bikes, paddleboarding in Bollington, and walking so as well as raising funds for a great cause, we will have fun along the way.

“The money we raise will be used to provide day visits to Booth Bank Farm for children from the Manchester and Greater Manchester area, and the programmes they run are suitable for youngsters of all ages, abilities and backgrounds.”

Helen Crowther, Fundraiser at The Children's Adventure Farm Trust (CAFT), said the charity needed to raise around £1 million each year to provide its services, and in 2025 their aim was to provide visits for almost 21,000 children.

She said: “We're so excited, and very grateful, to be Manchester's nominated charity for this amazing challenge.

“It means so much to us that the team has chosen CAFT to benefit from all of their hard work. The money raised during the challenge will enable us to provide day visits to our beautiful countryside location for Manchester children whose lives are impacted by illness, disability or social disadvantage.

“Thanks to the support of Fisher German Manchester, we will be able to give these children an opportunity to play, laugh and grow in a supportive, accessible and fun environment.

“They will meet our animals, play outdoors and enjoy sensory play, art therapy, sports, music and woodland activities. They will simply be allowed to be children.”
