One of our partners will be swapping the day-to-day demands of commercial property management for an altogether different challenge, cycling 350 kilometres along the breathtaking French Riviera in support of a powerful global cause.
From Thursday 25 to Saturday 27 June, Gemma Lund, in our commercial property management team, will take part in the third Mileway Charity Challenge 2026. The ambitious three-day ride will see participants travel from Marseille to Nice, pushing their physical and mental limits, all in aid of raising £200,000 for Habitat for Humanity.
The route itself is nothing short of spectacular, hugging the Mediterranean coastline, winding through picturesque towns, and climbing challenging terrain, but the purpose behind the journey is even more compelling. Habitat for Humanity is a global organisation committed to tackling poverty and homelessness by building safe, secure and affordable housing for families in need.
For Gemma, the motivation to take part runs deeper than the challenge itself. She said: “This is about much more than the ride, having a safe place to call home is something many of us take for granted, but for millions of families around the world, it simply isn’t a reality. Supporting Habitat for Humanity means being part of something that creates lasting, meaningful change.
“Taking on a 350km cycle in just three days is no small feat. It requires months of preparation, resilience, and determination and it’s definitely going to be tough. There will be moments where it really pushes me, both physically and mentally, but that’s part of why I wanted to do it. Knowing what we’re riding for will keep me going when it gets challenging.”
The Mileway Charity Challenge brings together professionals from across industries, united by a shared goal to make a tangible difference. The collective target of £200,000 will go directly towards helping Habitat for Humanity continue its vital work, building homes, strengthening communities, and providing stability for those who need it most.
Gemma’s involvement also reflects a wider commitment within the business to support charitable initiatives and give back to communities on both a local and global scale.
“I’m incredibly proud to be part of a business that supports initiatives like this,” she adds. “There’s a real sense of encouragement around getting involved and making a difference, and I’m grateful for that backing as I take on this challenge.”
As the countdown begins, Gemma is focused on training, fundraising, and raising awareness of the cause.
“Every donation, no matter the size, will help change lives,” she says. “If this challenge can help even one family access a safe and secure home, it will have been worth every mile.”
