Meet Madison Scott, an Assistant Surveyor in our infrastructure land rights and consultancy team based in Ashford. Since joining us as a Project Assistant in February 2025, Madison has brought a proactive, engaged approach to learning the role, embracing the variety of the day-to-day, and building strong relationships in a close-knit team. Her story is also a great reminder that careers don’t always follow a straight line, with the right support around you, a new direction can become a real opportunity.
Before starting with us, she built experience across a range of fast-paced roles, working at Eurostar as a real-time routing analyst, as a receptionist and later a manager at a vet, and with the Rhino’s. Madison also has a degree in Animal Science, and her varied background has helped her develop strong organisation, calm problem-solving, and confidence communicating with different people. With the right team around her and strong support from the outset, Madison has been able to take those transferable skills and apply them to a new career path in surveying at Fisher German.
Madison says she had heard lots of incredible things about the business. For her, our reputation made it an ideal place to start a new career, somewhere she could learn quickly and feel supported as she develops. She describes Fisher German as a large company with a small company feel, where everyone plays their part and the focus stays firmly on delivering excellent service to clients.
When asked about her secret to success, Maddie keeps it simple: being proactive, engaged and motivated. Having joined just over a year ago, she describes herself as relatively new and growing with the company and for her. one of Fisher German’s unique selling points is the range of support, training and opportunities available to both new starters and established colleagues. For her, she believes anyone on the outside looking in at Fisher German would describe us as a relatively large company with a small company feel, where everyone has their part to play and teams work hard to deliver excellent service to clients. Most importantly, she values the fact that people are given the time to progress, grow and develop both personally and professionally, helping them become the best version of themselves.
Over the next two to five years, Madison plans to work towards her ASSOC and would like to begin her CAAV, continuing to build her knowledge and qualifications as her career at FG progresses. Maddie’s advice to anyone starting out, or moving into a new part of the business, is to stay curious: ask as many questions as you can and learn as much as you can. “There is always something new to learn and every day is different,” she says.
