Cadent Gas win contract 1

We have recently been appointed by Cadent, the UK’s largest gas distribution network, to provide planning and land rights services across four regional operating areas following a major review of its supplier delivery model.

We will work with Cadent across its West Midlands, East Midlands, North London and East Anglia regions, as well as alongside two other suppliers on Cadent’s specialist and complex services framework.

The contract will run for an initial three-year period, with the option to extend for a further two years. Under the agreement, we will provide planning and land rights services to support the delivery of infrastructure projects across Cadent’s network.

The scope of work includes land acquisition, lease renewals, planning applications, access rights, land referencing, negotiation of legal rights and compensation agreements, alongside support for more complex projects through the specialist framework.

Work will be led by our teams in Ashby, Worcester, Banbury and Bury St Edmunds, drawing on expertise from across the firm’s utilities and infrastructure, planning, land rights and Geospatial Data Solutions teams.

The appointment builds on a relationship spanning more than a decade between the two organisations and reflects our continued growth within the utilities and infrastructure sector.

Cadent appointed Fisher German as part of its move to a single-supplier model for its regional business-as-usual land and planning services, designed to create greater consistency across its project delivery teams.

Partner, Adrian Webb, said: “This appointment reflects the confidence Cadent has in our ability to support the planning, land and stakeholder requirements that underpin the successful delivery of infrastructure projects.

“We have worked alongside Cadent on many projects over the years, and their decision to appoint us on four of the five regions tendered for shows not only the strength of our expertise, but the importance of building lasting working relationships.

“We look forward to working closely with Cadent to support the efficient delivery of projects throughout the contract period.”

Tom Bowling of Cadent said: “Following the standstill period, we are delighted to confirm Fisher German’s appointment. This reflects not only their capability, but the strong personal relationships and trust built with the Cadent team.

“We look forward to working together over the next regulatory period and have already begun mobilisation planning to ensure a smooth and collaborative start.”
