Padel Final Development 1

Last week, our development agency held the final to their annual charity padel tournament at Sports Social Society in Derby, with 16 teams competing in a knockout event.

The tournament consisted of four regional heats in Derby, Manchester, Leeds and Gloucester with the top four teams from each heat qualifying for a place in the finals. In total, 64 teams with representatives from both national and regional housebuilders, developers, promoters and solicitors competed across the four regional heats, setting up a highly competitive final to take home the coveted trophy.

This year’s finals followed a new format, with group stages determining which sides progressed into the knock-out matches. The top four teams from each group advanced, raising the intensity as the competition moved into the latter stages.

After a strong run through the group stages and showing real determination in the knock-out rounds, defending champions MyPad reached the final to face Breck Homes. MyPad went on to retain the trophy, becoming two-time winners of the tournament. The semi-finals also saw quarter-finalists MyPad, ASL, Banks and Beck come together in a tight contest for places in the decider.

The tournament raised money for four charities: Birmingham Women’s and Children’s Hospital Charity, Doorways Derby, Maggie’s Centres and Yorkshire Children’s Charity, and the total raised so far stands at £14,000.

Associate, Max Fellows, said: “Months of planning go into an event like this, but seeing the teams compete in such a great atmosphere, and, most importantly, seeing the money raised for four brilliant charities, makes every bit of that effort worthwhile. We’re excited to grow this annual event aiming to raise even more money next year”

Director, John Turner from winners MyPad said: “We are delighted to have taken part in the Fisher German charity padel tournament. It was an exceptionally well organised event, both highly competitive and great fun, and most importantly, it has helped raise vital funds for four fantastic charities.”

Nigel Robson, Managing Director (Yorkshire) at Breck Homes, said: “Breck is proud to support initiatives that give back to the communities in which we operate, and the Fisher German charity padel tournament was a fantastic example of coming together for a great cause.

“The event raised much-needed funds for four brilliant charities, while giving players from across the sector the chance to connect, compete and support organisations that make a real difference to the lives of people facing difficult circumstances.”

With MyPad now crowned champions for a second time, attention will soon turn to next year’s tournament, and whether anyone can stop them making it three in a row. Organisations interested in taking part are encouraged to register their interest with Max or anyone in our development agency team.
