Our team from our Bury St Edmunds have started their leg of our epic Big 25 fundraising challenge in aid of a charity supporting farmers and their families in times of need. They chose to raise money for the Farming Community Network (FCN), which supports farmers, their families and rural communities with mental health support and advice and was picked by the Bury team due to seeing the great work FCN does firsthand with its rural and farming clients.
Their leg of the challenge will see them walk, cycle, and even punt more than 75 miles over six days to our Bedford office.
Partner, James Gowing, said: “FCN provide an absolutely vital service to farmers and their families, not only in Suffolk and East Anglia but across the country.
“The farming community is facing difficult challenges at the moment, so the mental health support and general advice that FCN provide is more important than ever.
“We felt they were the right charity for us to support in our epic challenge, and the Bury team is giving it their all as we make our way to Bedford.”
While Fisher German marks its 25th anniversary, FCN is celebrating its 30th this year, and recently launched a new three-year strategy, with a focus on helping farmers before they reach a point of crisis and reducing health inequalities and other inequities in the farming community.
Rachel Davey, Marketing and Events Officer at FCN, said: “We are extremely grateful to Fisher German’s Bury St. Edmunds office for supporting the work we do.
“Like us, they want the farming community to thrive, and their team are well-placed to look out for farmers facing challenges.”
