Our Bury St Edmunds has launched their office fundraising drive for our Big 25 challenge by inviting neighbouring companies at the Risby Business Park and local land agents Brown & Co and Brooks Leney to enjoy burgers and sausages cooked by graduate surveyor Henry Lankfer and land liaison officer Rob Body.
The team will be passed the relay baton from colleagues at our Market Harborough office on Friday, August 29 before reaching Bedford on September 4. They are supporting The Farming Community Network which is a voluntary organisation that supports farmers and the wider agricultural community during challenging times, whether issues are personal or business-related.
Over £800 was raised thanks to a raffle which included a variety of prizes donated by colleagues and nearby businesses including a coffee machine, hamper, six-month membership of a martial arts club and an hour’s free tattoo session.
Project Coordinator, Aimee Rolph, said the barbecue had been a resounding success. She said: “It was a perfect opportunity to get to know our neighbours better while enjoying the barbecue and everyone was so generous in buying raffle tickets or donating prizes, we held the barbecue just outside our office and around 60 people came along so Henry and Rob were busy cooking lots of burgers and sausages.
“We’re grateful to Swiss Farm Butchers from Ashbocking for giving us a discount on the burgers and sausages since it was a charity event. We’ve chosen The Farming Community Network as our charity to support because a large amount of our work is spent dealing with landowners and arable farmers.
“Many of our colleagues are from farming backgrounds, so it is close to our hearts. It was a great occasion, and we would like to thank everyone who came along. When we started planning it, we didn’t expect to attract so many people. It was a fantastic success.”
