Ella Bradley, a graduate surveyor in the Valuation and Professional Practice team at our Ashby office, has gone above and beyond in her recent fundraising efforts. By completing the Chester Marathon, Ella has raised an impressive £891 with her friend, far surpassing their original target of £500, for North Clwyd Animal Rescue (NCAR), a charity close to her heart.

Reflecting on the marathon, Ella said: “It was a real challenge, but I am very glad I made it over the finish line! Everyone was very encouraging and the support throughout was amazing. There were queues of people cheering, and seeing my friends and family support me at different points on the way round carried me through. The support from the other runners was also very encouraging, as everyone knew what a challenge it was to get round the course. There were more hills than I was expecting, however I took each one as they came and eventually made it to the end. The last few kilometres were quite emotional, as that was where many supporters gathered, but the feeling of relief crossing the finish line was well worth it!”

Ella’s passion for running began a few years ago. “From that moment I knew I absolutely loved it! Over the last two years, I ran a couple of half marathons, one to test my limits and the other for charity. The feeling after completing these big events inspired me to push even further and to complete a full marathon, because for me, that was completely out of my comfort zone,” she explained.

Her chosen charity, NCAR, is based near her childhood home in North Wales. “Within the village I grew up in, there are lots of members that support and fundraise for this charity, as they work extremely hard to give all the animals, they rescue a loving home. Last year, on my gap year, I signed up to be a volunteer and seeing all the animals that need a home inspired me to give some time to this amazing charity. I have now relocated to the Midlands, but I still wanted to help them out in a way that will make a difference,” she said.

Training for the marathon was tough, especially while balancing work and study. “The training has been tough, and I have perhaps not put in as many hours as I should have to be able to complete the run in the time I originally set as my goal, however other matters took priority. I have completed the long runs on the training plan, so whilst I was nervous to run, I am excited to be able to say I have completed it.”

Ella joined Fisher German in July as a non-cognate graduate in the valuations team. She holds a Psychology degree from the University of Exeter and is currently undertaking a part-time masters in Rural Estate and Land Management at Harper Adams University to further her expertise in the field.

Helena Tibbitts, Partner in our valuations team, added: “I’m immensely proud of Ella and her amazing achievement. Her grit and determination in reaching this goal truly reflect her remarkable character”.

North Clwyd Animal Rescue (NCAR) is one of the largest animal rescue organisations in North Wales, rehoming over 1,500 animals each year and relying entirely on donations and volunteer support. Ella’s fundraising will help NCAR continue its vital work, providing shelter, veterinary care, and loving homes for animals in need.
