Applications for our graduate and year placement schemes for 2027 open on Monday 14 September 2026.
Joining us means becoming part of a vibrant early careers cohort of more than 120 graduates, placement students, apprentices, and trainees who are already thriving in our property consultancy. Graduates have entered our early careers programme from a range of different backgrounds and geographical locations.
Our graduate and placement schemes are open to university graduates and support them in achieving professional qualifications in the early stages of their careers within Chartered Surveying and Chartered Planning. The schemes include structured internal training days, opportunities to meet graduates from across the business, and access to a dedicated “Doctor” or mentor. Each candidate is also appointed a supervisor and counsellor to provide further guidance and help them stay on track throughout their training.
The early careers team also runs full mock Assessment of Professional Competence (APC) interviews and paperwork reviews. The APC exam, which is essential for becoming a chartered surveyor or planner, ensures candidates meet high professional standards and have gained sufficient experience to begin their professional careers.
Our Early Careers Manager, Adella Brown, said: “Each year, we’re delighted to welcome talented graduates and placement students who bring fresh thinking, energy and ambition to Fisher German. Our early careers programmes are designed to give them a strong start, combining structured training, professional qualification guidance and hands-on experience from day one. With dedicated supervisors, counsellors and APC Doctors for surveying candidates, every individual is given the guidance and encouragement they need to build confidence, develop their skills and shape a meaningful career with us.”
Graduate Planner, Bradley Minton, joined the planning team in Ashby in July 2025 after graduating from Birmingham University with a Geography and Urban Regional Planning degree. He said: “I have a passion for town centre planning and didn’t want a career with a local authority. Since day one I have been involved in some key projects, and I am enjoying assisting the strategic planning team with early stages of the planning processes for clients.”
Graduate Building Surveyor, Rio Farquharson, joined our building consultancy team in Manchester in May 2024. He said: “I was drawn to Fisher German after doing further research due to its size and status as a multi-disciplinary organisation, which fosters collaboration between departments and ensures a consistent stream of work. Opportunities for career progression are clear and there is a strong support network alongside an emphasis on structured training and support for graduates, which was particularly appealing to me.”
Graduate Surveyor, Molly Fowles joined our infrastructure land rights & consultancy team in Knutsford in 2023 after doing a summer placement with us. She studied at Lancaster University and Liverpool John Moores University and learnt more about Fisher German when we visited Lancaster University to give a careers talk. Molly said: “It was very refreshing to talk to people who had clearly looked at your CV and cover letter rather than online tests and assessment centres. The graduate programme and its structure also stood out as well as the variety of divisions at the company and breadth of experience available. My main day to day role is within the infrastructure team but I have really enjoyed my exposure to work within the rural and residential agency team as well as the valuation team.
Jemma Stevens joined our minerals team in Ashby in 2024 after studying Rural Land Management at the Royal Agricultural University. Jemma first heard about Fisher German at a university careers event. She said: “I knew that Fisher German had a good reputation in the surveying industry and was a name that everyone seemed to know. A big part of this was that our graduate scheme was considered the best training you could be offered.
“The culture was a big part of why I wanted to join, alongside the highly rated training and it was obvious from speaking to current employees that supporting their colleagues was an important part of what they do, which convinced me it would be a great working environment, and it is!”
