Background and industry experience

Yan's client work focuses on retained management or consultancy roles in traditional estate and country house management. His clients are trusts, private individuals, families and charities, amongst others. Other areas of expertise include shoot management, rural valuations, maintenance and refurbishment of historic buildings.

Yan started at Fisher Hoggarth over 27 years ago, three days after leaving college. After ten years in North Gloucestershire, the office expanded and relocated to Worcester, where after another decade it relocated to an office twice the size very nearby. His local knowledge with national contacts gives experience and added value to his many clients. Having obtained a degree then a Masters at the Royal Agricultural College, Yan qualified as a land agent in 1998.

He now lives in Worcestershire with a farmer's daughter and has four children who keep him busy in leisure time. He has been Chairman of the Worcestershire CLA Committee and local school governor. Other interests include old buildings (SPAB member) and running a Scottish Reeling Ball in Cheltenham for charity.
