Background and industry experience

Jem joined Fisher German as a Trainee Apprentice Surveyor in 2018. Jem studies at Harper Adams University alongside working in the Stafford Office as part of a new, diverse degree apprenticeship pathway – Rural Chartered Surveying. The course is over a 5-year period, and although predominantly dealing with the Severn Trent contract within Utilities, Jem is always looking for work to help progress within her degree studies.

In her spare time, Jem is usually with her Sprocker, Archie. She enjoys socialising and spending time with her family. During harvest time, Jem is usually on a tractor chasing the combine and in winter she likes to be sat in front of a TV watching the rugby – all with Archie, of course.

About me

When did you join Fisher German?

Why did you join Fisher German?
To be invested in through a Degree-Apprenticeship was an unmissable opportunity, especially by such an admirable company.

What has been your favourite project and why?
So far, replacing an existing water main in Shropshire – I’ve had all sorts thrown at me from upset landowners to Common Land Applications. The scheme is now coming to a close but has been really interesting to watch as the programme progressed. I’ve also built up strong relationships with the project team because of the programme.

Most admired, non-property brand?
John Deere

Top pastime?
Watching the rugby after a long walk with my Sprocker spaniels, Archie and Skye.

Best holiday destination?

Who would you like to be stranded in a lift with?
