Background and industry experience

Matthew works in the Infrastructure Services division, providing mapping and GIS support to the team and wider business.

The GIS team is responsible for developing mapping solutions for a large variety of projects. Matthew has developed a strong knowledge in this area, having previously completed a BSc and an MSc in GIS and having worked as a GIS Technician in the construction (Balfour Beatty), and power (Western Power), industries. Matthew became a member of the Royal Geographic Society and achieved Chartered Geographer accreditation in 2017.

As part of the Ordnance Survey Partnership support team, he is a person to contact for any Ordnance Survey background data requirements. He is also trained to use the GNSS Survey equipment and can carry out precise surveys and map the results.

Matthew lives in the Leicestershire with his wife and two daughters and in his spare time, Matthew enjoys sports, film and playing chess.

Richborough - it was my first DCO project to see through from start to finish and I learnt a lot in the process
