Background and industry experienceJulius joined the firm in September 2017 after completing his Masters degree in Rural Land and Business Management at the University of Reading. As a Graduate Surveyor for the Estates Team in Ashby, his work includes assisting in the management of two Estates based in Derbyshire.
Applying his knowledge in farm business management from his undergraduate at Newcastle University, he hopes to find innovative ways of meeting the challenges faced by landowners and rural businesses. Previously working at Batcheller Monhouse in Kent, Julius has experience in assisting the day-to-day management of rural estates and in general practice work. Prior to his decision to move into the field of surveying, he gained hands-on experience in rural management by working on a number of farms in both the UK and in New Zealand. Instilling a proactive approach to work, this experience has also enabled a practical awareness of rural management issues.
Growing up in the Weald of Kent, Julius has always loved outdoor pursuits. His enjoyment of exploring the countryside has been furthered through his travels across South America and Asia. Having been an active member of the Agric societies, he also enjoys getting involved in sports such as rugby, squash and tennis.
