Background and industry experienceJill manages the team responsible for the central administration of Fisher German, which embraces a wide range of services including the central purchasing of equipment and fleet management. More recently, an ever increasing part of the role involves supporting the business with compliance requirements and she has direct responsibility for the management of Fisher German’s quality and environmental management systems.
Jill has gained extensive knowledge of the business, having worked for Fisher German for over 20 years in a number of different roles, starting out visiting farms as a farm secretary, then transferring to Pipelines (now Utilities) before moving into the Central Operations area of the business.
Jill lives on a busy farm with her husband and son. As winter is an easier time for getting away, she loves to escape to the mountains to ski which presents an endless challenge of getting to the bottom of the slopes in once piece!
What year did you start your job?
My first role in Fisher German commenced in August 1986.
Why did you join Fisher German?
I applied for the role whilst at agricultural college. I loved the countryside and wanted to work in an environment which had close links to the rural environment.
What has been your favourite project and why?
There have been so many during my time with Fisher German but collaborating on any major project with a great team of colleagues is a constant highlight.
DIY on an industrial scale – more of a necessity than choice as a result of living in a house which is 400 years old.
Best holiday destination?
Any ski resort – where it feels like you are on top of the world!
