Background and industry experienceJames is from Surrey and joined Fisher German after graduating from the Royal Agricultural University in 2015 with a degree in Rural Land Management and is part of the Utilities & Infrastructure team based in Canterbury.
James is predominantly involved in advising and the management of infrastructure projects on a day-to-day basis for Southern Water, the Environment Agency, UK Power Networks and National Grid. This involves land referencing, landowner liaison, mapping, preparation of notices, negotiation of compensation and acquisition of rights and land to facilitate projects.
In 2016 James was seconded to the Environment Agency’s Estates department based in Peterborough office for ten months. This involved advising on day to day estate management matters across the agency’s 13,500 acre Anglian Estate and flood defence projects.
James also has acted for clients including National Grid and UK Power Networks in respect of valuations and negotiation of injurious affection claims associated with overhead lines.
Outside of work James can be found pursuing his hobby of photography.
