Background and industry experience

Darren is East Midlands Regional Managing Partner, as well as Sustainable Energy Sector Head. He has expertise in a range of rural estate management issues, from property and land management to valuation (he is an RICS Registered Valuer) and diversification, specialising in energy related matters. He has been involved in a large number of multi-technology energy schemes across the UK and Northern Ireland and oversees the firm's team providing due diligence and valuation services to some of the UK's leading clearing banks who have lent in excess of £250 million to associated projects as a result of this guidance. More recently, he has found himself engaged as an expert witness on several complex cases involving energy assets.

Darren graduated from the Royal Agricultural College in 2006, joining Fisher German later that year. He qualified as a Chartered Surveyor in 2008 and has since progressed through the firm into his current role as a Partner. As well as helping build the firms energy sector, he also spent a number of years developing Fisher German's graduate recruitment and APC training programmes.

Darren hails from the hills Exmoor and can often be spotted on the racecourse, having ridden over 250 winners as an amateur jockey.

What has been your favourite project and why?
Helping clients develop their own renewable energy projects under the Feed-in Tariff scheme. I have been involved in many projects that have helped secure the future of the farming business for the next generation, which has been great.
