Background and industry experience

Rupert joined the Ashby Office as a Graduate Rural Surveyor in September 2019 after studying a three-year BSc Agricultural Management (1st Class) degree at the Royal Agricultural University, going on to complete a one year MSc in Rural Estate Management.

Rupert's work covers all aspects of Estate Management –asset management, landlord and tenant, compulsory purchase, planning and buildings, mineral and forestry. With Fisher German he hopes to complete the rural pathway APC and CAAV to qualify as a Rural Chartered Surveyor.

Prior to starting, Rupert completed work experience with Knight Frank, Savills and on private resident estates as well as working on a variety of agricultural farms around England, during the holidays and part-time whilst studying. Rupert also spent 9 months on a working and travelling holiday around the South Island of New Zealand before undertaking his Masters, exploring agricultural systems on the other side of the world and playing rugby for a local club.

Outside of work Rupert enjoys all aspects of country life including: shooting, fly fishing and classic cars (Goodwood Revival Meeting) as well as individual and team sports such as golf, rugby, skiing, tennis, running and cycling and has completed his Gold Duke of Edinburgh award.
