Description
Hillside House is situated in a slightly elevated position on a quiet village lane with many attractive period features. Thought to date from 1671, with a later Victorian extension to the rear, the property is Listed Grade II and set over three floors. Constructed of local ironstone under a red tile roof, the house forms an L shape around a large flagstone terrace.

Accommodation and Grounds
The drawing room is double aspect with a log-burner set in a wood fireplace surround with a fitted corner cupboard and further shelving. The dining room has a beamed ceiling, a large inglenook fireplace, window seat and stone floor. The kitchen/breakfast room has extensive floor and wall cupboards with a new wooden floor and a window seat. To the rear is a double aspect sitting room with high ceiling height and fireplace with log burner.

The first floor has some exposed wood floors and four bedrooms (one en-suite), a family bathroom with shower. All these rooms have feature fireplaces. Wooden stairs rise to the second floor with two vaulted ceiling bedrooms, one with an en-suite bathroom. This area would make an ideal children’s or staff accommodation.

The grounds are south-west facing and comprise part lawn and part paddock. A gravel drive skirts this area and leads down to a parking area in front of a brick-built outbuilding divided into two rooms. This building has further potential to convert into home office space subject to planning. Next to the house is a wide entertaining terrace and low box hedging surrounding the flower beds.
