Souldern is a popular ‘no-through lane’ village situated between the market towns of Banbury and Bicester, not far from Oxford. The pretty village has many attractive period stone houses and cottages with the ‘Fox Inn’ public house, Norman Church and Chapel and sports fields with children’s play area. The neighbouring villages are Fritwell and Croughton, both have village shops and primary schools. Excellent connection to the M40 at Junction 10 about 3 miles away and fast-line rail train service from Bicester North station to London Marylebone (from 45 minutes).
Hill Cottage is an attractive village home constructed of local stone under a slate roof. Though period, the cottage has a slightly contemporary ‘feel’ having been updated by the current owners to a high standard. The accommodation is light and flexible and would be an ideal weekend bolt hole, ‘lock up and leave’ cottage.
From the wide hallway can be found a double aspect sitting room with a woodburner in a stone surround fireplace. The kitchen breakfast room is triple aspect and fitted with extensive wood and floor cupboards with a Rangemaster cooking range to one end. To the rear of the hall is a utility room and WC with a sink and a door to the outside. Upstairs there are three double bedrooms including an en-suite shower room and a well-fitted bathroom with a walk in shower.
The courtyard garden is south facing with a pedestrian gate to the side - ideal for sitting out in the sun. Stone steps rise to a useful small barn which houses the oil tank with potential to improve.
