Aynho is an attractive vibrant village situated on
the eastern side of the Cherwell valley with
many far-reaching westerly views. Located on
the borders of South Northamptonshire and
North Oxfordshire, historically much of the
village was owned by Aynhoe Park and was
called the ''Apricot Village''.
There is a pub/restaurant (Cartwright Hotel) and
another just outside the village (Great Western
Arms), a parish church and sports/playing
fields. The nearby villages of Deddington, Kings
Sutton and Croughton have mini-supermarkets
with the market towns of Banbury, Brackley and
Bicester not far for more extensive
requirements. Aynho has good communication
links with Junction 10 of the M40 (Ardley) about
6 miles giving access for London and Oxford,
and M40 Junction 11 (Banbury) for the
Midlands and the North. Train connections to
London/Marylebone can be found at Bicester
(travel time from 45 minutes) and from Banbury.
Local primary schools include Charlton and
Newbottle and Croughton with secondary
schools at Banbury and Brackley.
Built in 1999 of Cotswold stone, the property
offers well laid out, flowing accommodation.
Owned by the current owners since
construction, the house forms part of a well-run
private courtyard setting. The centre of the
house has a spacious hallway with galleried
landing above and limestone flooring. The
sitting room is dual aspect with a slightly raised
fireplace with beam over and log store to the
side. This flows around to a dining area with
two sets of French doors, one back to the
central hallway and the other opening out into
the rear courtyard garden.
The well fitted kitchen breakfast room has a slate floor and extensive wall and floor cupboards incorporating a gas hob with oven below and other fitted appliances. A doorway to a useful utility room with access to the side of the house.
The first floor has four bedrooms, all with fitted wardrobes, including a principal suite with a walk-in dressing room and an en-suite shower room. The family bathroom has a corner bath.
The garden is situated to the front of the property and is principally laid to lawn behind a low stone wall. There is parking in front of the garage, with space for two vehicles, with side access to a courtyard garden behind the main house.
