The hamlet of Lower Tadmarton, and its larger neighbour, Upper Tadmarton, are situated in undulating north Oxfordshire countryside. Upper Tadmarton has a public house, parish church and village hall, and nearby Bloxham has good local facilities, including shops, doctors surgery, petrol station and several public houses.


Banbury offers a comprehensive range of shops and facilities, including the railway station, with regular commuter services to London Marylebone (approx. 56 mins), Birmingham Airport (45 mins) and easy access to J11 of the M40 motorway (10 miles).


The area is well served for education, with local schools including a primary school at Sibford Gower and a secondary (The Warriner) at Bloxham. Prep. schools at Carrdus (Overthorpe) and St John’s Priory (Banbury). Public schools at Bloxham, Sibford and Tudor Hall.

Mayfield Cottage is a Grade II listed 16th century cottage. It is constructed of local stone, under a thatched roof (rethatched in 2013), with many original period features throughout, including beamed ceilings, flagstone floors, window seats and inglenook fireplaces.
