MP Nigel Huddleston recently visited a leading Worcestershire industrial estate to hear how new investment worth £5 million at the site could lead to the creation of new jobs.

Nigel Huddleston, the Conservative MP for Mid Worcestershire, visited the Hartlebury Trading Estate to see infrastructure work ahead of construction of a new 30,000 sq ft warehouse on the estate, called ‘Hartlebury 30’. Joint letting agents Fisher German and Harris Lamb invited the MP to the estate to learn about the work and to also hear from business managers and asset manager Rupert Jefferies, of Collingwood Rigby, relay businesses’ concerns over Brexit. Many businesses on the estate have customers inside the EU and export and import goods regularly.

Duncan Bedhall, head of commercial at Fisher German, said: “Mr Huddleston was very pleased to hear how Hartlebury Trading Estate is continuing to grow and evolve, creating jobs and increasing prosperity. We’re delighted the new infrastructure around Hartlebury 30 has now been built, and the estate’s owners are hoping to get planning permission for another 45,000 sq ft warehouse soon. Demand is very high for new space on the estate, so we’re confident plenty of businesses will look to occupy the new warehouses once they’re built.”

Hartlebury 30 will consist of a single-storey steel portal framed building with an eaves height of 10m with dock and level access doors. It will feature fully fitted office accommodation including raised floors, suspended ceilings, recessed lighting, carpeting and gas fired heating.

Mr Huddleston was also informed about new plans to demolish an obsolete unit on the site and replace it with a 45,000 sq ft building. Duncan added: “He’s a man who understands businesspeople – he worked in business for many years before he became an MP, so he really empathised with the tenants’ concerns. I think his visit reassured many of the businesses here that their worries around Brexit are being listened to.”

Hartlebury Trading Estate is the leading business park in Worcestershire, offering excellent access links to the UK motorway network via its close proximity to the M5 an M42. The estate currently houses 90 businesses in 130 building ranging from 500 sq ft to more than 100,000 sq ft in a fully landscaped environment that extends to over 230 acres.Occupiers at the estate include FedEx, TNT, Wyvern Furniture, FW Hipkin, Concept Furniture and Forest Garden.
