Capesthorne roof renovation fisher german banner

Collaboration has been the key to success for a roof renovation project which our Knutsford team have been working on since October last year.

The roof of the nursery wing is part of the grade two listed building, Capesthorne Hall in Siddington near Macclesfield. The six-figure project will hopefully be complete in April 2022.

Matt Burton, our Estate Manager at Capesthorne Hall said: “Working on this large stately home project has been a great opportunity to collaborate across our departments to deliver the best service for the client. Nia Borsey from our planning team prepared a listed building application and secured Listed Building Consent following various surveys. Alex Broad from our building consultancy team also prepared a schedule of works and tender pack following a full measured survey being completed which included drone mapping.”

The roof has been completely stripped, all stone, lead and timbers have been replaced, repaired or maintained and the roof has been insulated, felted and slated.

Matt added: “Having our team managing the whole project including appointing appropriate contractors for the scheme has meant that it will be completed on time and to budget. We have worked hard to ensure that there has been as little disruption as possible to enable the planned events including many weddings, Plant Hunters Fair, Alice in Wonderland Easter Experience and Discover Tree Climbing can all go ahead”.
