Fisher German has been announced as Ashby RFC’s lead sponsor for the 2021/22 season, as players from its first team return to the pitch for the first time since March 2020.

With two offices based in the town, we have a long association with the club after being a sponsor for more than 15 years, with consultant Andrew Jackson currently serving as Club President and a number of colleagues playing for its teams over the years.

Ashby RFC’s first team has also been promoted to the Midlands 2 East (North) League. The club, which has teams for those aged four through to veterans, is also welcoming new players of all abilities to join.

Andrew Large, Chair of Ashby RFC, said: “We would like to thank Fisher German for supporting the club once again. They are a big company locally who we are lucky to have a long association with. We’re very excited to be playing rugby as a club once again, and our first team is looking to make a big impact after being promoted.

“We’re also keen to welcome new players to the club, particularly to our senior and veteran teams, and we accept people of all abilities, from beginners to experienced players. We have something for everyone from tag rugby to contact as well as walking rugby, and we’re also proud that we have an established girls’ team which continues to grow. We are excited for the season ahead and welcoming some of the Fisher German colleagues to cheer on our teams.”

Fisher German Managing Partner Andrew Bridge said: “We are very pleased to be continuing our sponsorship of Ashby RFC. Supporting the communities in which we live and work is extremely important to us at Fisher German and sport in particular is something which many of our colleagues are involved in at all levels, from grassroots through to competitive leagues. The benefits that sport can bring to our health and wellbeing, particularly after the last 18 months, should not be undervalued. We wish all of the teams every success for the 2021/22 season and look forward to cheering them on.”
