UKPN Planning Services Contract Win

Fisher German has been awarded a three-year contract to provide town planning services contract for UK Power Networks (UKPN), which owns and maintains the electricity cables in South East England, the East of England and London.

The contract will see our infrastructure planning team work closely with UKPN’s property and consent teams to support them in achieving planning permission for its major projects, including developments such as new substations.

The contract, which also has the option for a two-year extension, will be delivered by planning experts in Fisher German’s Bedford, Canterbury and Ashby offices.

Partner Sarah DeRenzy-Tomson said: “Fisher German’s town and country planning services already work across the utilities and infrastructure sector, so we are very pleased to secure a contract with UKPN.

“The firm already advises UKPN from a land perspective, so it is fantastic that we will also be working with them on planning.

“There are strong links between the two as demonstrated in our delivery across other utility contracts, so being awarded this contract will enable us to provide a strategic and collaborative service which will produce joined-up solutions for UKPN.

“We look forward to supporting UKPN with its major projects delivery in 2021 and beyond.”
