Fisher German has been shortlisted for a trio of awards in recognition of successful deals completed across the Midlands. We are proud to announce that we have been shortlisted for Deal of the Year at the Insider Midlands Residential Property Awards 2020 as well as Deal of the Year and Agent of the Year at the Insider East Midlands Property Awards 2020.
The awards recognise the key teams behind some of biggest property deals and projects across the area.
In the Midlands awards, the firm was shortlisted for the sale of Callendar Farm, in Nuneaton, to Taylor Wimpey and Jelson Homes in a major eight-figure deal completed in the middle of the Covid-19 lockdown. The development site has planning permission for 850 homes, of which 212 are set to be affordable, as well as a local centre providing retail development and community buildings and a proposed new primary school.
The deal completes a sustainable urban extension of 1,000 planned new homes, with the initial phase for 150 homes being disposed of by the firm to Jelson Homes in 2017 – a deal which led to us obtaining instructions to advise on the sale of phases two and three.
In the East Midlands awards, we were shortlisted for Agent of the Year in recognition of our contribution to the region’s property sector. As a multi-disciplinary property consultancy, we provided advice to clients on more than 20 development-related transactions across the East Midlands. Between May 1, 2019 and April 30, 2020 we advised on the disposal and acquisition of development land with a land value in excess of £125 million and with a potential gross development value in excess of £500 million.
We have also been shortlisted for Deal of the Year for the sale of a 48-acres site in Allestree, Derbyshire, to Miller Homes in January 2020. Our involvement in all stages, from site identification, strategic advice on the disposal of land, involvement in the planning process through to shortlisting and best and final offers, ensured the landowner received maximum value throughout.
The East Midlands awards evening is set to be held on November 5, while the Midlands event will be held on November 26 where the winners will be announced.
