The commercial property market in and around South Yorkshire and North Nottinghamshire is proving resilient in extremely tough conditions after Fisher German completed six major deals in just a week. The Doncaster team - usually based at Lakeside Business Park but currently working remotely from home locations - successfully completed leases on six properties for a variety of businesses in the South Yorkshire and the North Nottinghamshire area.
These included the letting of industrial premises to a local sign manufacturer, a Grade II listed office to a health and beauty business, and a two-storey modern office building to a green energy company.
Senior Surveyor Ben Flint was delighted with the successful deals getting over the line in the face of the coronavirus outbreak. He said: “Despite some of the most difficult trading conditions for businesses in a long time, we’re very pleased to say the commercial property market in and around Doncaster and North Nottinghamshire area is proving to be highly resilient. To complete six deals in the space of a week would be fantastic news at the best of times, but for it to happen in these unprecedented times is a welcomed boost and shows that, in spite of the incredibly difficult circumstances, some businesses wish to and need to transact in order to set themselves up for a return to normality in hopefully the not too distant future. The six deals were highly varied – the first was the letting of a unit at the Plumtree Industrial Estate in Doncaster to Giggle Gift Company Ltd – an established Doncaster business that creates signs, plaques and personalised gifts. A ground floor shop at Exchange Buildings in Doncaster will also be leased to well-known taxi firm Micks Cabs, who will open a new taxi office. A two-storey office building at Amelia Court, Retford, was leased to a growing green energy business, and Grade II listed offices Ivy House in Worksop was leased to beauty and health businesses.
Worksop will also see a 7,000 sq ft unit at Dukeries Way leased to a new gym business looking to create a new fitness centre, featuring box fit, weight training, as well as golf fitness and simulation. Finally, a retail premises at Excelsior Court in Conisbrough will be leased to a business selling collectables.
