New homes are set to be built in a south Lincolnshire village after Fisher German sold a nine-acre site to developers Minster Property Group. The land, off Malting Lane near the village of Donington, was granted planning permission for up to 73 homes, with a quarter of these homes to be affordable - or below market value, enabling more people to have a chance of buying a home.

Development surveyor Matthew Handford said the affordable homes set to be built on the site will help people in Lincolnshire get on the property ladder more easily. He said: “We’re very pleased to have not only secured planning permission for these new homes but to have successfully sold the land to a developer to allow the project to go ahead. This development will provide vital affordable homes to people in south Lincolnshire who might otherwise have struggled to buy a property outright. The sale of this land to Minster Property Group is another great example of Fisher German’s expertise in a range of services. We’re looking forward to seeing the first homes go on the market and for new buyers to move in.”

Fisher German’s rural team highlighted the land following a strategic review of its client’s portfolio, CEMEX UK Operations Ltd, a multi-national building materials company. The firm’s planning team were then able to successfully secure planning permission to build the homes from South Holland District Council, despite the site having previously been discounted by another consultant.

Liberty Stones, Head of Planning at Fisher German, added: “Achieving planning permission for these homes is a fantastic outcome for those looking to settle in south Lincolnshire. And now Minster Property Group has bought the land, these homes will be well on their way to being built.”
