- On behalf of the NHS Fisher German were instructed to sell the former community hospital in Malvern
- The Victorian building was not listed but was located within a conservation area and was subject to an SPD within the Local Plan
- The building extended to just over 14,000 sq ft and was allocated for conversion to residential and it was suggested that it could be suitable for conversion to 15 apartments
Solution
- Undertake a review of the planning background such that interested parties could be appraised of the opportunity
- Prepare a comprehensive marketing campaign focused on a broad variety of potential buyers
- Although the site was allocated for housing, it was identified that other uses may also be suitable such as Care and Retirement in particular
Benefits
- A sale was agreed, subject to planning, to Montpelier Estates Limited
- The buyer planned to operate the property as a Nursing Home following various works including the replacement of a single storey extension
