Our specialist team are fully qualified to apply the Electricity and Planning Acts which govern this industry in the UK.
We offer a full range of services for new overhead lines and cable projects, refurbishment of existing lines, including tree clearance and tower painting work, and also negotiating rights for cables for grid connections for offshore/onshore wind farms.
With the new requirements, under the Planning Act 2008, for all new above ground electricity projects of greater than 132Kv, to be submitted to the Infrastructure Planning Commission (IPC) we have seen changes in the processes required to obtain the necessary rights and consents. We have provided detailed support on these changes to a number of our clients.
Specifically we can provide the following support to clients:
-
Understanding of the Electricity and Planning Acts
-
Agreeing proposed new line/cable routes and access
-
Preparing wayleaves/option documents and plans and completing appropriate legal documentation
-
Preparing pre-entry records of condition
-
Knowledge of the infrastructure to be installed, methods of construction
-
Valuing and agreeing claims for crop compensation and disturbance
- Advising on reinstatement and drainage defects resulting from works
With the new Localism Act and the changes this Government has identified for the IPC we will monitor and update our advice to our Clients as the new legislation becomes effective.
