Further changes proposed to HS2 Phase One

October 2015

rural consultancy news

Many of those who are affected by HS2 will have recently received further documentation regarding the railway. This is to reflect changes to the originally deposited High Speed Rail (London - West Midlands) Bill and previous Additional Provisions through a further Additional Provision, this being AP4.

The changes reflect detailed design changes and in many cases reflect the fruits of negotiation by landowners with the promoters of the railway, for example on Fisher German clients' land, changes have been made to remove wetland habitat creation from in front of a farmhouse and elsewhere to put in a farm access track under the line of the railway.

Click here to read details of the proposed changes on the HS2 website.

It is recommended that those affected by the railway check these documents to review the changes.  The most helpful documents are the map books available within Volume 2 of the Environmental Statement as these show ‘before and after’ plans for the changes to the route.

The depositing of these proposed changes in Parliament now provides for an additional window to petition the HS2 Select Committee up to Friday 13 November 2015.  Whilst this is useful for those who had missed previous petitioning windows, the changes are generally of minor nature and therefore unlikely to lead to many new cases.  Consultation in regard to the changes will end on Friday 27 November 2015.

If you are affected by the proposed changes, or require representation on matters relating to HS2 then please contact one of our HS2.  We advise a considerable number of clients affected by HS2, and are well placed to advise and assist with all elements of negotiation, petitioning and claiming of compensation, bringing a vast wealth of experience from across the firm.
