HS2 Compensation Delays

April 2013

rural consultancy news

HS2 had planned to implement a number of compensation measures for properties affected by HS2 on Safeguarding of the route this spring.

Whilst Safeguarding is to go ahead as planned, the recent judgement from the Judicial Review means that the compensation measures are to be delayed until a further compensation consultation takes place and a new discretionary compensation package is announced.

The Exceptional Hardship Scheme will continue to be available to qualifying property owners until new measures are put in place.

Further information on the above and expert advice on all HS2 matters can be offered from offices in Stafford, Knutsford, Chester, Ashby-de-la-Zouch, Newark and Retford.
