Hodsock Priory provides perfect backdrop for successful machinery auction

Hodsock farm machinery sale
Blue skies filled the sale ground on Thursday 24 April making the perfect setting for the machinery auction at Hodsock Priory conducted by Fisher German on behalf of Hodsock Farms near Worksop following a change in farming policy.

The sale of 126 lots commenced at 10.30am with the first run of lots being Hodsock Farms before concluding with a small number of carefully selected guest lots included by the kind permission of Sir Andrew Buchanan Bt KVCO of Hodsock Farms.The well-kept and well maintained equipment was a real credit to Hodsock Farms.
 
The successful sale saw 126 lots sell in under 2 hours, including 2011 Horsch 3TG c/w Horsch Joker 3CT £5,000; 2005 Lemken EurOpal8 5 furrow plough £6,500; Kuhn HR4002 power harrow £5,500; 2004 Amazone ZA-M 1200 fertiliser spreader £1,900; 2008 John Deere 732 sprayer with 24 metre booms £18,000 and 2011 Vaderstad Rapid 300S XL trailed drill £18,000.
 
A selection of trailers also made good money with 2 x 2004 Triffitt 14 tonne grain trailers fetching £9,500 and £8,500.
 
A trio of John Deere tractors concluded the sale of Hodsock Farms machinery with a John Deere 6170R with 345 hours making £53,500; 2009 John Deere 6630 Premium with 2140 hours £33,500; and 1997 John Deere 6300 with 7300 hours £7,000.
 
Guest lots included a 2006 New Holland TL100A tractor with Trima 2.0 loader and 4709 hours £15,500; 1990 Massey Ferguson 390 with loader and 5000 hours £5,400 and a 2002 Deutz Agrotron 135 MK3 with 4466 hours £13,000.
 
One lot which created interest was a fine example of a 1973 Massey Ferguson 135 tractor which ended up fetching £4,300.
 
Sir Andrew Buchanan Bt KVCO comments: “whilst initially I had my reservations about a sale, all the advice I was given was correct and I am delighted with the result of this highly professionally conducted sale”.
