Disease threat to ash trees in the UK

You will probably be aware of the increasing concern surrounding chalara fraxinea - a destructive disease which is spreading in the UK with potentially serious effects on the ash tree population.

Although the Forestry Commission has been aware of this for some months, the presence of the disease has recently been confirmed within established UK woodland.
